White Entry-Level MacBook Receives Speed Bump

As of first thing this morning, Apple has rather quietly announced an update to it’s entry-level White MacBook. Keeping its price of $999, the laptop now offers a faster 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo processor as well as the NVIDIA 320M graphics chip used in the latest revision of the 13″ MacBook Pro. It also now boasts the same higher capacity 63.5Whr battery first introduced in the 13″ MacBook Pro. According to the Apple Store online, it is available immediately and ships within 24 hours.

    This seems like a minor improvement over the previous model, however speed and battery life are good areas to improve. As a user of the previous version of the Macbook, I get the spinning beach ball delay more often than I would like and the battery only lasts about 2 hours now.

    What apple has over everybody right now is battery life…it’s unbelievable how long they are able to go. And people still complain about needed a replaceable battery, it’s crazy!

    This has always been a good product and with a speed bump and battery boost it’s even better value.

    I tried to get my girlfriend to get one of these instead of the Dell she wanted but in the end she wanted the Dell because of the price. Boo, it’s not much more and does so much more!!!
