This likely won’t matter to most of you reading this, but to any webmasters reading this out there who are familiar with the ongoing argument about the merits of dofollow vs. nofollow linking, I just wanted to let you know that The Apple Vine’s comments have turned off the rel=”nofollow” attribute for the comment author’s name. Just like always, however, comments that are clearly spam and make it clear that you have not read the post (beyond perhaps the title) will be marked as such. Let the link juice flow.

It’s very nice of you to turn off nofollow. I am very much on the side of dofollow, and I think as long as the comments pertain to the post, why not have it be dofollow?

I completely agree, Rae. Thanks for commenting!

It’s good to have dofollow when comments are not spamming the specified topic.

I too think that as long as the comment is relevant to the post, it is better to leave it do follow. Even if the comment is not relevant we already ahve the moderation option. Why should we make our blogs no follow when do follow really does not do much of a harm. I really don’t understand it

I turn of nofollow too in my website, fortunatly I don’t have a lot spam. Maybe the spam problem will come when the page rank increase.

Nice gesture for turning off nofollow. As long as the comment is not spam in nature and contributes to the topic, it deserves to have a follow attribute.

    Thanks!
